Bluetooth Low Energy adapter compatibility and recommendations
If your PC does not have built-in Bluetooth, or if you are experiencing connectivity issues, a dedicated USB BLE adapter is recommended.
Recommended Adapters
The following adapters are commonly used with FitOSC and are known to work well on Windows 10 and 11.
| Adapter | Bluetooth Version | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| ASUS BT500 | 5.0 | ✅ Working | Plug-and-play on Windows 10/11. Backward compatible with BT 2.1, 3.x, 4.x. |
| TP-Link UB500 | 5.4 | ✅ Working | Nano-sized, plug-and-play on Windows 10/11. |
Other Bluetooth 5.0+ adapters may work, but the above have been commonly tested by the community. If your adapter is not listed, it may still be compatible.
Troubleshooting
If FitOSC is not detecting your treadmill, try the following:
- Make sure no other application (e.g. the treadmill's companion app) is connected to the treadmill at the same time
- Disable and re-enable your Bluetooth adapter in Windows Device Manager
- Try moving the adapter to a different USB port, or use a USB extension cable to get it closer to the treadmill
- Check that your adapter supports Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) — standard Bluetooth adapters without BLE will not work
