Host Application
Becoming a host means you take responsibility for running a Walkies event — choosing the world, welcoming participants, keeping the vibe positive, and enforcing community rules.
Host permissions are not handed out automatically. You must meet the eligibility requirements and be approved before hosting an event.
Eligibility Requirements
- You are an active member of the Walkies VRChat group.
- You have attended at least 3 Walkies events as a participant.
- You have read and agree to the Rules & Guidance.
- You have a reliable setup (FitOSC or equivalent) for movement tracking.
- You are comfortable managing a group and handling issues that may arise during an event.
How to Apply
1
Join the VRChat Group
Make sure you're a member of the official Walkies.0659 group.
2
Attend Events
Participate in at least 3 Walkies events so you understand how they run and what's expected of a host.
3
Submit Your Application
Join the Discord on Discord and apply with the /apply-host command.
4
Wait for Review
Applications are reviewed by the admin team. You'll be notified of the outcome via DM or group announcement. This may take a few days.
5
Get Onboarded
If approved, you'll receive host permissions in the VRChat group and a brief onboarding from an existing host covering event setup, world selection tips, and how to handle common situations.
Host Responsibilities
Hosting is entirely voluntary. There are no obligations or quotas — host when you want to, at your own pace. That said, consistency goes a long way in building a strong community or subcommunity, so if you're able to host regularly, even occasionally, it makes a real difference.
When you do host, you are expected to:
- Plan your event in advance (world, time, theme if any) and post it in the group.
- Be present and actively managing the event from start to finish.
- Enforce community rules and remove disruptive participants if necessary.
- Report any serious incidents to the admin team after the event.
- Keep your events accessible and welcoming for all fitness levels.
Host permissions can be revoked if community rules are repeatedly broken or if events are run in a way that negatively impacts members.
